A previous winner of the Western Morning News Business Awards, Prima Bakeries has been at the heart of Cornish baking since 1978. Originally established by the Buist family as a pizza base manufacturer, the business quickly evolved into the fully fledged craft wholesale bakery and pasty maker it is today.
Ross, the third generation of the Buist family to bake at Prima, is Operations Director and ensures that all our products are made to the very highest quality and flavour each day. The business was acquired by Mark and Lynne Norton in 2010.
Prima is Cornwall's only county wide bakery wholesaler and pasty maker, delivering over 250 different product lines to its 500 customers, six days a week. Together with Cornish Premier Pasties, a 100% owned subsidiary of Prima, the Prima Bakeries Group is the fourth largest manufacturer of Cornish pasties in the world.
